Danielle Friesen (b. 1997, Winnipeg, MB, Canada) is an emerging artist based in St Leonards-on-Sea, United Kingdom. Working from a foundation in drawing, she invests time into rigorous repetitious mark making, in tandem with intervening with specific found and kept ephemera. Danielle makes this work in conversation with fleeting and intuitive aspects of her experience.
Danielle holds a BFA from NSCAD University (2025) and a Diploma in Graphic Design (2019). Her work has been exhibited internationally in group exhibitions and in hum (2025), a solo exhibition at Anna Leonowens Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her work has also been acquired for the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, a major Canadian public art institution (2026).
She is co-director and co-curator of 231LondonRoad, an artist-led gallery in St Leonards-on-Sea.
